uses cookies to offer its services simple and efficient to Users while consulting its pages. The tables below summarise the different types of cookies that may be used on the Site, along with their respective function and duration (i.e. how long each cookie will remain on your device).

The information is valid only for the aforementioned Site and its related second and third level domains and not for any other sites that can be consulted through links. By using this Site you consent to our use of cookies in accordance with this Cookie Policy. If you do not agree to our use of cookies, you must set your browser accordingly or do not use this site or the corresponding second and third level domains. If you decide to disable the cookies we use, your experience while browsing our Site may be affected.

1. What are Cookies?

Cookies are small text strings that the sites visited by the user send to their terminal (usually to the browser), where they are stored and then retransmitted to the same sites on the next visit by the same user. While browsing a site, the user may also receive cookies on his terminal that are sent by different sites or web servers (so-called “third parties”), on which some elements (such as, for example, images, maps, sounds, specific links to pages of other domains) present on the site he is visiting may reside. Cookies, usually present in users’ browsers in very large numbers and sometimes with characteristics of long persistence, are used for different purposes: execution of computer authentication, monitoring of sessions, storage of information on specific configurations regarding users who access the server, etc.

2. What are the main types of cookies?

In this regard, and for the purposes of this provision, two macro-categories are therefore identified: “technical” cookies and “profiling” cookies.

a. Technical cookies.

Technical cookies are those used for the sole purpose of “carrying out the transmission of a communication on an electronic communications network, or to the extent strictly necessary for the provider of an information society service explicitly requested by the subscriber or user to provide such a service” (see Article 122, paragraph 1, of the Privacy Code). They are not used for other purposes and are normally installed directly by the owner or manager of the website. They can be divided into navigation or session cookies, which ensure normal navigation and use of the website (allowing, for example, to make a purchase or authenticate to access restricted areas); analytics cookies, similar to technical cookies when used directly by the site manager to collect information, in aggregate form, on the number of users and how they visit the site; Functionality cookies, which allow the user to browse according to a series of selected criteria (e.g., language, products selected for purchase) in order to improve the service rendered to the same. The prior consent of users is not required for the installation of these cookies.

b. Profiling cookies.

Profiling cookies are aimed at creating user profiles and are used in order to send advertising messages in line with the preferences expressed by the user during web browsing. Due to the particular invasiveness that these devices can have in the private sphere of users, European and Italian legislation provides that the user must be adequately informed about the use of the same and thus express his valid consent. They are referred to in art. 122 of the Privacy Code where it provides that “the storage of information in the terminal equipment of a contracting party or a user or access to information already stored is allowed only on condition that the contracting party or user has expressed his or her consent after having been informed in the simplified manner referred to in Article 13 of the Privacy Code, paragraph 3”.

Session e Persistent Cookies

Session Cookies, which contain the information that is used in your current browser session. These cookies are automatically deleted when you close your browser. Nothing is stored on your computer beyond the time you use the site (ASP.NET_SessionId and language).

Persistent Cookies (such as ASPXANONYMOUS), which are used to maintain the information that is used in the period between one access to the website and another or used for technical purposes and to improve navigation on the site. This data allows the sites to recognize that you are already a known user or visitor and adapts accordingly. “Persistent” cookies have a duration that is set by the website and can vary from a few minutes to several years.

First-party and third-party cookies

That is, it is necessary to take into account the different entity that installs cookies on the user’s terminal, depending on whether it is the same manager of the site that the user is visiting (which can be briefly referred to as “publisher”) or a different site that installs cookies through the first (so-called “third parties”).

First-party cookies, created and readable by the site that created them.

Third-party cookies, which are created and readable by domains external to the site and whose data are stored at the third party.

Advertisements on our site are provided by third-party organizations. Our advertising partners will provide you with advertisements that we believe will be of interest to you, based on information collected as a result of your visits to this and other websites. In order to carry out this data collection, our partner may need to place a cookie (a short text file) on your computer. For more information about this type of advertising based on users’ tastes, deriving from third-party cookies, you can visit the third-party websites at the links below.

At the link www.youronlinechoices.com you will also find information on how behavioural advertising works and a lot of information about cookies as well as the steps to follow to protect your privacy on the internet”.
